Mission

The GJJS Foundation is an integrated team of citizens and police officers (active and retired), dedicated to preventing crime and helping Youth at Risk on all possible levels. We provide ongoing education and awareness through our community partnerships.

Our sole goal and mission is to benefit the community by providing youth at risk in Parksville/ Oceanside with a Ju Jutsu program to reduce violence, vandalism and crime (Article 2 of GJJS Foundation Constitution)

The GJJS Foundation is a not for Profit organization and registered Charity, which provides preventive programs and services based on a specialized Ju Jutsu Martial Arts system to the local Oceanside community with the goal to decrease crime, violence and vandalism. Those programs are designed by GJJS Foundation and outsourced to GJJS (Dojo/Social Enterprise) as the active partner, bringing a concept from blueprint to successful action.

Proud of our achieved and established Martial Arts ethics, codes and traditions as well as being proud Canadians - confident in meeting future challenges - we commit to provide several preventive services to preserve the peace, uphold the law and provide quality defined service in partnership within our community.

Our mission is to help Oceanside's Youth At Risk to disconnect from possible negative peer groups or wrong role model pressures throughout all levels of age related society, using the approved methods of specialized German Ju Jutsu Systems for one's balancing, aliening and centering and in consequence decreasing violent behaviour and attitudes.

Dieter Rast, 8th degree Ju Jutsu black belt

retired West Berlin Police chief training officer and lifetime hon. President of German DAN Kollegium

Joe's Mentor and trainer at Budo Club Berlin, Germany
was part of an initiative in the 70's which created SYNANON
www.synanon.de a Charity with a multi-million EURO budget at present, which helped thousands of individuals to get off drugs through participation in Ju Jutsu. Dieter Rast was part of that movement in Germany from the beginning. This story of success is more than fascinating and Sensei Joe was blessed to witness that movement from the start to that incredible 25th anniversary party of this organization.
We are on similar pathways to create life opportunities for those, who possibly would not have too many chances otherwise...

Letters of support we have received throughout our community:
